Dropping testosterone affects us all as we age.  It leads to reduced performance in the places like the gym and bedroom, so low T often means confidence levels to match.

In theory that’s where a testosterone booster like VirMax T from Natural Health Solutions can help.  But does this particular one help in practise?

virmax

VirMax T’s main goal is restoring the older guy’s sexual performance and enjoyment.  Since testosterone is the fuel which lights this fire it makes perfect sense they would attempt this by boosting testosterone levels.

T also burns body fat so the products also claims to get rid of that soft middle some guys get in later life, keeping you in peak shape.

If you want have great sex you’ve got to attract people to have it with, right?

It’s endorsed ex NBA champ, John Salley, which is really promising but let’s check out if he’s in it for the T or the fee.

VirMax T puts of a lot of its most important ingredients in a proprietary blend, meaning we can’t talk about the exact doses.  This is so frustrating because active ingredients are the most important thing in any booster.

But let’s crack on anyway and see what we’ve got….

How Does It Work?

At a Glance

  • Magnesium to help free testosterone
  • Zinc to support T creation
  • Tribulus Terrestris for libido
  • Ginseng for libido and blood flow
  • Longjack to help sex drive and erection strength
  • Fenugreek to stimulate T and control blood sugars

There’s a fair bit to cover there and we’ll do just that, right after the scores

The Scores

VirMax T
Ingredients
5/10

Zinc and magnesium are great for testosterone levels, and the foundation of any good t booster, but both could do with higher dosages.

The main issue with this product is that it’s been marketed as a ‘Natural Testosterone Booster’ but the majority of ingredients won’t have any effect at all on your testosterone levels.

Tribulus, fenugreek, longjack – these are ingredients you’d find in a libido booster, which is really what the VirMax brand is all about. It’s not about testosterone, it’s about ED and libido.

So as long as you are OK with that, then let’s push on with the review.

But be clear – testosterone and libido are two different things. Sure, an increase in testosterone will result in an increase in libido … but the reverse isn’t true.

The VirMax T formula is all about the bedroom, not the gym. It would score higher in this round as a libido booster, but it’s a test booster, so a (generous) 5.

Price
9/10

VirMax T is widely available so there’s lots of chance to shop around.  Under $20 is great for a booster, but you have to balance the cost against the value.  VirMax T isn’t the complete booster, you’re not paying as much as you could, but you’re not getting as much either.

But then you are not losing out much financially by trying it, hence a high score in this round.

Trustworthiness
7/10

While VirMax T checks out from a safety point of view undisclosed amounts on labels always gets you marked down on this site.

You cannot trust a product when you don’t know exactly what’s in it.

Also describing this as a T booster when it is really a libido booster loses marks too.

Testimonials
7/10

There is no testimonial section on the official website so we’ve to rely on customer ratings on retail sites.  There are plenty of these as you can get VirMax T in loads of places.  This might sound like a plus, but these are only star ratings and paragraphs, which are mixed.  It’s impossible to get any kind of detail or consistency a testimonial section brings.

That being said, sentiment is pretty good. You’d expect that for a $20 supplement, you tend to find the angry vitriol is reserved for products with a much higher price tag. A good score here.

Company
8/10

Natural Health Solutions Llc have been around since 2006 and are based in Maryland in the U.S.  In their time they have developed quite a range of supplements.

These include sleep aids, energy boosters and another sexual enhancement product.  We couldn’t find major complaints and John Salley’s involvement lends weight.  Shame they use those damn proprietary blends!

How Do I Take It?

Users need to take just one capsule a day to get the full effects of VirMax T.

At least that’s their story and they’re sticking to it.  We’ve no problem with single capsule servings, they’re really handy, as long as there’s a few of them.  About 3 or 4 to keep ingredients topped up through the day.

There’s just no way, even if this were the best booster on the planet, one serving could sustain a hormone rise for 24 hours.

Where Can I Get VirMax T?

Customers will find VirMax T at Amazon.com. 30 servings currently cost just under $19

VirMax T Ingredients – In Detail

zinc-thumbnail

Zinc

Zinc is vital for testosterone.  Clinically low T is often linked to a lack of the mineral.  This is because many building blocks for T – like luteinizing hormone, human growth hormone and follicle stimulating hormone – rely on a healthy supply.

10mg is pretty light though, we’d normally expect at least double that.

On the plus side, the dose is so low that you’d be able to take this product with most multivits. That’s often something you can’t do with a t booster.

magnesium-thumb

Magnesium

Another good mineral choice.  Up to 60% of the T in our system can be tied up by a protein called Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG).  This makes the good stuff unusable.

So one of the best natural ways to lower the globulin count in our system, freeing up more T is magnesium.  100mg is a decent dosage.

Now we come to the blend. Usually the only good part of these are laughing at the silly faux-scientific names they give them. VirMax T doesn’t even give us that, so we just get 450mgof plain old ‘Herbal Proprietary Blend’.

Tribulus Terrestris

Tribulus Terrestris

This is a onetime famous T booster that many clinical trials have proved to be a dud.  It’s maybe not quite the disaster it usually is because it does have libido boosting qualities, and that is what this product is all about.

fenugreek-thumb

Fenugreek

Fenugreek has the potential to be very useful here.  Not only is it consider an aphrodisiac, it stimulates androgens for T and supports the hormone by controlling blood sugars.  This helps regulate T which, if unbalanced can block T.

ginseng-thumb

Korean Ginseng

This is used as a traditional libido booster because it improves nitric oxide levels and bloodflow – which is useful in the gym and in the bedroom. Some studies show it may help with erections strength. Not knowing the exact amount though, makes it difficult to say how much it might help here.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15982990

Tongkat Ali / Eurycoma Longfolia

Longjack

Again this is another ingredient (technically Eurycoma Longfolia) that may not directly help T levels but does seem to improve sex drive and help erections.  Since this is VirMax T’s M.O, we can’t really complain. There is still a question over dose though.

Anything Missing?

The more T you’ve got the stronger your libido is so it’s surprising this formula misses out some key male hormone boosters. There are too many to list.

VirMax T is aimed at older guys so we’re surprised not to see more anti-estrogen choices. The female hormone is on the up as we age, pushing T down. Vitamin B6, luteolin, I3C are just a few examples that can reverse that.

Also, given that it is a libido booster … where’s the Maca? That should have been first on the list.

Overall

VirMax T isn’t quite a dud, but it’s certainly not full blown stud either. It’s cheap enough that it might be worth a shot, if you’re on a limited budget.

Be clear though – you are buying a libido booster and NOT a testosterone booster.
